World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The item upgrade feature allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done by any upgrader of items NPC.
Upgrades can boost the stats of an item and also add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs and Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the main factors that keep Link protected from damage in the majority of situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in a variety of ways to increase its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to shield animals or people from injury or harm regardless of whether it's a direct physical attack or a variety of activity or environmental hazards. In the past, armour was typically made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were used as well for military purposes, particularly like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
Like weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armor can be upgraded but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own degree of upgrades available and more will provide higher levels of protection, but require a higher price in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of gear with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the required materials to complete the process.
You can find the upgrade components you require in a variety locations throughout Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. These are usually marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol. They are found in huge quantities as you progress through. They can appear randomly, but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest which will reward you with even more.
It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade is different but it's the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will give you a significant defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks, except magic and makes it a formidable tool for any type of.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns truly unique, you can enhance them with a variety of special upgrades. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the performance of the weapon to suit your build. They can also unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, various kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll require an upgrade component ready and the item. The weapon must be at a minimum of an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components are available scattered throughout the world, from a variety of sources, including merchants or enemies. Upgrade components are made up of ingredients that you are able to incorporate into armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. The equipment has to be of a certain level before it can accept the upgrade. It is able to be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a combination of Smithing Stones and Runes, and can be used to enhance the stats of a base weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. They can be found among enemies dropped in the open world, purchased from certain vendors, or obtained from combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you won't replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your shoulders, chest feet, hands, and shoulders when you are planning to play an asymmetrical build. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain items may be better than others, based on your style of play. Armour is the same, with certain reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic at a time. If item modifier is cancelled, no more upgrades will be made for the item. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the gold they would normally cost to make or purchase, but they can also provide additional benefits.
A magical item is an item that has some special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be armors, shields and cloaks, as well as potions. They could also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.
Most magic items can be upgraded to be enhanced with new abilities. This can make them more useful to players or aid them to overcome a difficult situation. Infused weapons can offer bonuses to damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a level where they'll likely encounter the same type of monster in dungeons repeatedly.
An infused ring might confer protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is particularly useful for melee fighters or anyone who wants to stay clear of buying an armor.
Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is useful for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other items that are enchanted can allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create a completely new one. These are particularly beneficial for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a place where they may not be accepted. A magical item may grant them invisibility or make them invisible for anyone, excluding the person they choose to.
Utility Items
Utility items are those that do not fall under the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons, and provide a range of different capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, as opposed to Armor or Weapons. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that are activated when the user presses a button or activates the ability.
The most popular kind of utility item is the Flashlight that is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. A variety of utilitarian items can be quickly produced in the Engineering section, while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the items available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.
The majority of utilitarian items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, made by the Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, made by the Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other useful items like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be used to give players an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one useful item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot becomes available by acquiring certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main slot for grenades.
